From arrival to departure, the Empire is proud to offer a world-class experience for guests requiring extra accessibility and assistance.

This goes far beyond our 5 x self-contained apartments that have been purpose-built with wider doorways, lower kitchen benches and open plan bathrooms on levels two and three complete with balconies that overlook the river or city and pool deck.

On arrival, Empire’s two-lane porte-cochere driveway connects seamlessly (and without stairs) to our 24hr Reception for check in. There are also four designated accessible car parks in our secure underground car park that are adjacent to the three lifts. Our 24hr Reception team are able to assist with luggage porterage to your room. All of Empire’s common areas feature tactile paving for vision-impaired guests.

The three lifts are 1.5m wide and 2m deep allowing a guest in a wheelchair or mobility scooter to enter the lift and perform a 180° turn inside the lift allowing them to exit the lift facing forward. Each lift is fitted with audible alerts and braille buttons.

Each of the 5 accessible apartments feature a king bed that is able to be split into two side-by-side single beds. We can also remove one of these single beds and replace with an electric bed if required from our preferred hire partner Daniels Surgical and Health Equipment. They can also supply other mobility equipment such as shower chairs.

On Level One there is a tropically landscaped rooftop pool and gymnasium. Both of these are accessible by wheelchair. The 20m lap pool is 1.15m deep and features a special mechanical lift swing that can lower guests in and out of the water if required (please ask Reception for assistance as this lift is in storage unless required). There is also an accessible bathroom and shower on the Pool Deck.

All three onsite restaurants are wheelchair accessible from the hotel foyer with ease and without stairs.

Empire’s 120 person Conference Centre is also located on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible from the hotel foyer with ease and without stairs.
